Wow, I am seriously impressed with this organizer! Initially, I was hesitant to spend so much on a storage solution, but it has exceeded my expectations. The thoughtful design allows everything to fit neatly while keeping almost all tools easily accessible—except for the ratchet, spare batteries, and extension, which are still conveniently stored.
One question I had before purchasing was whether the sockets would stay in place when the Packout lid is closed. The answer is yes! The insert is designed with just a few millimeters of clearance, ensuring the sockets don’t come loose. I also love that this insert accommodates various M12 ratchets, so if my trusted brushed ratchet eventually gives out, I can upgrade without needing a new organizer. Plus, shipping and manufacturing were impressively fast.
I did test different sockets, and the Milwaukee sockets this is designed for work best. I tried fitting my Craftsman sockets, and while most fit, the 1", 15/16", and 7/8" did not. Craftsman makes these taller than their other sockets, which caused the lid to not close. if you are ok getting a different brand of sockets for those 3 this organizer can fit a less expensive socket set.
Before this, I was using the standard Hansen socket tray, but I found it cumbersome. Most of my work isn't done in my garage, so I’d have to carry the tray around—only to accidentally dump everything at times. On top of that, I own an '80s Ford tractor, which presents a unique challenge: the tractor itself uses metric bolts (since Ford partnered with a Japanese manufacturer back then), but all my tractor implements are SAE. That meant lugging around two separate socket trays.
This organizer has completely solved those issues, making my work far more efficient. Highly recommend!
Very happy overall with this insert, only issue I had was both 11/16 socket holes were very tight but that was probably due to me using Craftsman sockets and not Milwaukee. Would buy again.
Thanks.
sent a different style and my m12 ratchet doesnt fit
Hi!
This particular model did undergo some design changes and unfortunately I hadn't yet updated the pictures on the site, but your ratchet should still fit.
If you'd be so kind as to reach out to us at 10spottools@gmail.com, we'd be happy to get you sorted out.
Thanks!
